Families of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Bronx, New York have access to a variety of government programs that can help them provide the best possible care for their children. ASD Nest teachers are trained in specialized teaching strategies for students with autism, including Social Development Intervention (SDI), a special social curriculum developed by New York University. Path students participate in standard assessments, including the New York State (NYS) Mathematics and English Language Arts (ELA) exams. Students entering kindergarten in September can apply for placement at the Office of Student Enrollment with the help of the central BSE program team starting in March or April of the previous school year.
